Political Comment Here – Yes, there are many, many threads. The biggest problem our country has right now is the inability to judge accurately the time and season that we are living in, and the ability to judge the person in the mirror and our side with the standard that we want to judge our opponents. We want peace but we do not want to be peacemakers, certainly not if it costs us anything. We want to defeat poverty but we do not wish to give up our greed.
We wish for there not to be homeless, but we don’t wish to reestablish the fundamental pieces of society that have been stripped over the past 150 years creating the problem. But this is just simply a response to representative Peterson’s email. I have the highest respect for her. I do not agree with everything that various parties do. I believe each individual will have strengths and weaknesses and until we learn to work together we will be a defeated country internally and eventually if we do not grow, having cut the tree from its roots, it will stay looking green for a bit, but eventually the Decay will be fully seen. I would urge us to spend time first and foremost and prayer and ask God for help because we cannot save ourselves. I would urge the right wing Christians to be as equal in their judgments of themselves as they are their opponents and perhaps Return to the cross of Jesus Christ. I would urge the left wing to have as much Mercy on the rich as you do on support and then to be honest because you too are incredibly rich. If you have more than three meals a day and hot running water you are some of the richest people in the world. And greed has no economic barriers. There are greedy homeless. And they are homeless people that are very generous. So be careful not to be so busy pointing fingers at everybody else that you miss the four pointing back at yourself. That would be advice to all.
Ultimately every human will stand before Jesus Christ on the day we pass through the veil and in that moment every lie with which we’ve covered ourselves will be gone. We may find ourselves completely shocked to discover that we were just as guilty as our opponent, and just as blind. But here is my response –
We live in a strange country. Why are all the news reports about what our president is doing wrong (I don’t negate some of the arguements) but little or nothing of the terrors and evil, lies and deception Iran has done?
History alone will judge the actions of this generation – whether accurately or not.
God will judge perfectly every action and motive of the heart when the nations are gathered together for judgement. Thankfully He is not just just, but merciful, so there is hope.
Iran has been bombaring Israel non stop. Yes, there are wrongs on both sides, but do you not see the deceptions throughout the media? Why do you judge Trump for his (sometimes hasty and foolish) evil words, appalled at his talk that could potentially breach international law, yet not equally judge Iran for her continued actions of using cluster bombs against Israel?
You wish for peace – and all would agree in word, though perhaps not in heart – but do you not comprehend that there is a time when it may be better to finish the job, so those intent on death and destruction are not given time to regroup, create more destructive weapons, and continue the warfare on other levels?
Is “peace” with evil truly peace?
You want Trump removed, and there are things I disagree greatly with his administration, but you assume those whom you support would better serve this country… perhaps. Perhaps not. Many wish to care for the poor, focus on environmentalism and “equality,” but the deep problem, Rep. Petterson, is not legal but spiritual. God sees this country and cares for every soul living here – as He does for every soul in Iran.
But there are so many twisted, tangled threads of thought.
If we draw back from defending the small country of Israel – the size of New Jersey with neighbors as close as New York is to NJ, seeking her destruction – Israel, a beautiful blend of various religions and cultures blended – certainly not perfectly, but blended in many healthy ways – to contribute to the health of all, so much as is in their power…
If we draw back from Israel’s defense, does it matter…? Trade places with a mom living there and then answer that question.
I do not agree with many of Trump’s policies, I certainly do not agree with many of his words, but Rep. Peterson, Israel, whose stand for life has rescued many Palestinians in Israel hospitals, my cousin can personally attest to from his 35 years of personally bringing children from Palestine, Syria, and yes, even Iran, to Israel when Jewish, Muslim and Christian doctors alike give of their lives, often working crazy hours, to save the lives of these precious children.
Do we leave Israel to the deeply destructive forces that would destroy their love for life?
If your children were constantly under threat of bombs, including the highly illegal cluster bombs from a nation known to support terrorism, would you want the US to finish the job – or let the destroyers have time to regroup in the name of “peace?”
Be equal in your judgements, please. For justice has the power to judge equally the person in the mirror and our own circle of friends with the same standard we use to judge our opponents.
God’s peace.
Sincerely,
