I have always found it amazing when people have arguments against the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, and we have new belief systems now, universalism, the Baha’i faith, there is always something new, but where are the gods of the Babylonians?
Do we know their names? Do we worship them and offer them sacrifice? Where are the gods of the ancient Egyptians? Are they worshiped all over the world? Do you know their names and bow down to them? Why not? Where are the gods of the Romans? The gods of the Greeks?
Somebody explain to me how the tiny little nation of Israel, the God Elohim (plural noun with singular verb) of Abraham Isaac and Jacob is still worshiped today when the names of so what many other gods are not even known.
And no, looking them up on Google does not count.
You have to wonder how many coincidences Humanity needs to be convinced.
My father used to say if you find a capital letter A on the seashore made by seashells you could walk up and say what a coincidence!
But if you walk to the seashore and the Star-Spangled Banner is written out in seashells, there is no coincidence.
I call it gambling with God. And one day I wish somebody would do this on an Oprah Show. Make sure everything’s good and legal and do it properly, you probably have to have a permit or something. And then ask Oprah to sign a piece of paper agreeing on roll of dice, she would be giving away everything that she has monetarily in savings everything that she owns now and in the future to the poor except enough to live in a small apartment with three sets of clothes. And then in the contract she also agrees to go to church every Sunday for 3 years. If she doesn’t get the roll.
Not that big of a deal. I mean it’s something she could do and it might not be comfortable but she would still have what she needed for life. Now, it is a Gamble and she gets to roll a set of dice. Just a normal set of dice, no cheating here. And she chooses a number, writes it on a piece of paper for everybody to see.
And if she gets the number on that set of dice, she loses nothing, she lives continually the way she has.
If she does not get that number, she loses everything in accordance with the contract. I mean what are the chances, it’s not that big of a deal? One in what? I’m not up to doing the math right now of how many chances there are in a set of dice and I am too tired to look it up on Google.
Now if she was wise she would not dare to agree to such a Gamble even though it’s really not that big of a deal she’d still have everything she needs for life and she just have to go to church.
Yet humanity is willing to gamble our Eternal salvation on what odds? If we believe scientists that the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob does not exist, then we can believe that we go into Oblivion that there is nothing. But if you look up on Google the chances of the earth creating itself is one in a very very large number much larger than a role of the dice. And if so if these scientists aren’t willing to risk temporary things on the role of a dice why would they risk their Eternal Souls on such a Gamble? It is beyond strange. However Christians have not helped because we add to the word of God and we take away from it. Ex: The Bible does not say the world was formed in 6 – 24 days. We added the 24-hour part… That is our assumption from science as we tell scientists not to make assumptions based on their science but rather just to trust in the word of God. 🤯🤔😲These things just frustrate me but Jesus is Lord of his church I don’t know how he puts up with us but he really loves us and he really loves the people who don’t believe in him too.
Trust me I’ve already tried to point that out to a number of theologians but getting humans to admit they are wrong is one of the most difficult tasks in humanity. I keep hoping at some point, by God’s grace the strongholds will break. And Christians will admit their wrongdoing and show the rest of the world how to repent. I’ve seen it happen a few times but it’s pretty rare.
How many supposed coincidences does it take Humanity to believe in God and in Jesus Christ? But there will be a day when everybody will stand before him. And there will be no question in that moment.
The moment we go through the veil there will be no question whether or not there was reincarnation or whether we’re standing before Buddha or Muhammad neither of which rose from the dead.
It is difficult. Because people do not believe what is rational and what is true; that is true of Christians as well.
Sometimes we are the biggest proof of the mercy and grace of God.
If you Google, “what the chances are that the World created itself,” I seem to remember the number is just a tad bit longer than the chances are on a dice.
But, Humanity, if you are wrong and Jesus Christ is Lord and there’s an eternal hell and separation forever for those who do not choose to fear, to believe and love him, and the fear of the Lord is a beautiful thing like the fear of Fire, it is not an evil thing like the fear of an abusive parent.
Ex: Nobody in their right mind that has a fireplace starts the fire in the middle of the dining room. That is a healthy fear and wisdom that keeps us from starting the fire in the middle of the wooden floor. Because we understand that there would be destruction.
Why then are we so blind spiritually? But I suppose a dead person cannot feel and blind cannot see color so you would have to trust somebody who can see when they tell you the color exists and they urge you to get the life saving surgery not just so that you can see, but so that you can live.
And at some point if we are believers in Jesus Christ, either we have gone against the status quo and we have chosen to believe if we are first generation Christians, or we are blessed to have that Heritage of Faith passed down.
At some point in my family, I have no idea how far back but at least three generations, somebody in Scotland and somebody in Germany chose to go against the cultural norm.
They chose to believe something that none of their friends believed. And I don’t know who they are but I am most grateful to them and when I see them face to face I will thank them.
Because somewhere in the history of my parents and grandparents, somebody chose to believe.
It is very difficult for a new believer that doesn’t have support group from family and close friends.
And unfortunately, sometimes, the reason people do not believe God is because those who call themselves Christians, whether they are just immature because an apple seed does not look like an apple tree and it’s not bearing fruit yet, or whether they are wolves in sheep’s clothing, sometimes what the world is rejecting is not God or Jesus Christ, but the mistaken identity that we have presented in his name — and Jesus Christ and the father God do not believe false identity in that either.
But one day every lie will be seen for what it is, even those that have been done foolishly his name. One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
There are many lies. May God have mercy on us to help us in this generation, not just to speak the truth but to speak the truth in love. Because we can have all the knowledge in the world but if we do not have love it is nothing and we gain nothing.
So may God have mercy on us and may we cry out to him for hearts of Flesh that we might love one another the way Jesus loves us.
I’m pretty certain that when we do that the waters won’t be quite so muddied. If Love Never Fails, then, by God’s grace may we never fail to love.
God’s peace.
