The Gifted Music Teacher

I think theater and dance and music are so important to any culture and I think it’s often a missing Factor in our electronic day and age.

Music, theater, dance and the other Arts were meant to be breathed and lived and moved through in the 3D World, imo, in community with other imperfect physical humans in this 3D World.

To me every harmonious live symphony is living proof that under the right Conductor, humans can bring their gifts and grow together to produce Something Breath taking and Beautiful.

Harmony is possible when everybody is willing to agree for the most part with what is written on the page, follow the Conductor and find where their part is played. It is possible when individual set aside their time energy money and resources that were divided into so many different areas and Unite with one common goal:

To follow the Conductor and using each of their individual gifts, come together to produce the most beautiful, inspiring music.

My now adult daughters had an experience in their elementary school under a music teacher that was one of the most gifted music teachers I’ve ever met.

The first performance I heard her do, the girls were in, I think, first and second grade but it might have been second and third. It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard from elementary students and it blew my brain.🤯

I am an vocal artist and a musician.

How do you get elementary school students to unite to perform such beautiful music?

I don’t remember if it was the Buell Theater or somewhere else but they actually were so good they got invited to play at one of the theaters in downtown Denver.

As a musician, I was desparately trying to figure out what in Heaven’s name this gifted music teacher had done.

Then I realized, she had a unique gift to find every one of those children’s natural musical talents and to create a masterpiece that fit each one of the gifts.

The music was simple but exquisite.  I believe the Simplicity was definitely part of the key to her success. Combined with her ability to determine and see what each child was gifted at. And then merging that with her teacher gifts of training them day after day in class over a number of months to produce the beautiful Masterpiece we got to hear.

Those children who had natural gifts for singing were singing.

Those whom she saw had natural gift for beat were using percussion instruments of various kinds.

The few that had some instrument ability were on probably recorders, I believe.  Again, simple, but beautiful.

But this was the thing that blew my brain, because every child in those grades were participating and there is no way in any school that you are going to have every child with natural music Talent.


What blew my brain was when I realized that she had in the back a line of seven or eight students that were playing three or four foot rain sticks that had beautiful sound and quality and must have caused somebody a bit of an investment.

!!! – Amazing! I thought to myself.

You need no musical Talent to turn a rainstick up and down and when placed at the right place, it just adds to the environment in the right piece and so every child was given the gift of Music in the ability they each had and the Music Teacher developed it into something absolutely breathtaking.

It was incredible.

My memory is imperfect and if somebody reads this who was there and knows what I’m talking about forgive me if the account is not 100% accurate, but that was to the best of my memory what I recalled.

And as a child of God — saved because God loved the world so much he gave his only son to die on the cross for our sin so that those who simply look to Jesus Christ and believe through faith accept the gift he gives of eternal life. Then to those who believe in him, he gives them the power to become the sons of God. John 3:16-17, John 1:12

— so, as a child of God, Harmony in music is one of the biggest proofs in this life to me of the promises of the world to come, the place where the wolf will lay down with the lamb, where the child can put its hand in the Vipers nest, where there will be no more harm on all of God’s Holy Hill.

To me, every Symphony and every four-part Harmony, every child singing is just one more voice and one more chord declaring, along with all of creation, the glory of God in the land of the living, a Harmony declaring we are loved and there is his truth and his grace. John 1:17

When we see that it is a beautiful thing – the music or the dance or the theater, so many people coming together to inspire – and it brings to my remembrance the promise that when Shiloh comes (Gen. 49:10 KJV)  and “of the increase of righteousness and his peace there will be no end”( Is. 9:7) There is going to be a day where swords will be turned into plowshears (Is. 2:4, Micah 4:3) and War will cease to the ends of the Earth. (Psalm 46:9)

People will be too busy caring for the Earth to be fighting anymore. Too busy coming together under the conductor, too busy focusing each one on his part in the music that the Creator has created to be worried about the lesser things of greed or Pride or lust or anything that pulls away from truth and Grace in His love.

But you just need the right Conductor, the right Teacher to bring it all together in Perfect Harmony.

When He comes, believe me, we and this world will know it.
