Pray God’s kingdom come and His will be done on Earth as it is in heaven

My father was John McConnell, and for every year that I looked it up on Google until last year it said my father was one of two people credited with founding Earth Day. Strangely apparently Google can erase history, but I’m pretty sure the 40 years of my life we bring the peace bell at the United Nations at the moment of the Spring Equinox every year wasn’t a figment of my imagination.

And I never knew my dad, the son of an Assemblies of God Minister back in the early 1900s, I never knew him to lie not to his dying day so if he said he had a really good idea called Earth Day and discussed it with a man named Gaylord Nelson, it’s just been really sort of freaky to see how Wikipedia and everything is twisted everything.

But anyway Peace Justice and the care of Earth was a biography written about him if you have any interest, I believe it’s pretty cheap on Kindle. Or if you are interested in a hard copy I still have some left. I think the softbound go for around $17 and I’ve only got a few of the hard-bound left but they were think closer to $30.

But he started the Global Earth Day. But he believed the Earth belonged to the Children of Men. I firmly believe as we have strayed from our Christian Heritage, and it just seems throughout history Every Nation that has Revival Falls, it’s not so much the great immorality that people think are causing the fall, that’s the end result of the core root of the problem.

The core root of the problem is we don’t count the knowledge of God worth retaining.

We have other things to provide us enjoyment – all of our Idols of greed and materialism come and nobody wants to actually go to spend hours on their knees worshiping the Living God or hanging out with the homeless and bringing them into our houses according to Isaiah 58. P

Honestly there seems to be a pattern with Humanity that’s quite weird and strange but I guess it’s part of the Fall, you saw it with Israel, and we see it to some extent in the New Testament, where we received God’s blessings but then somehow we think he blessed us because we were better than everybody else, and so we fall into Pride instead of just believing what he says that we were the least and he saved us so that others could understand that he wants to love on them too, not denying the laws of God which are holy and beautiful, but Christ Jesus came to bring truth and Grace.

The truth is, we are really bad about obeying God’s laws. But by his power and Grace when we count ourselves dead to sin, when we consider the knowledge of God worth retaining acknowledging that we are truly saved by grace alone, through faith, not by works so that no one can boast, yet remembering that Faith Works by love and that faith without works is dead so walking as the New Testament Believers did in the book of Acts in the fear and the love of God, but they’re just is always that sliding. You see it how it happened in Russia. And in some of the Eastern countries that once were designated Christian but we didn’t count the knowledge of God worth retaining. He believed we are worth dying for and truly saves us and I hope and I have hope because he said that he would make all things beautiful in its time that in spite of our wickedness and fallenness someday somehow, not negating the scriptures that speak of hell, not negating the scriptures the speak of the punishment of the wicked but some way Lord that the promise he made to Abraham that all families on the Earth would be blessed through him will come to pass. Because he didn’t say All Families after the cross. He didn’t say all families that were descended from Abraham Isaac and Jacob, no, he promised also to bless Ishmael, though it was through Isaac that the Messianic Covenant would come. I truly believe when we stop counting the knowledge of God worth retaining, that is where we start sliding into so many damnable things, such as Pride that Proverbs 6 calls an Abomination, however somehow we Stray From Grace and Truth. We want to blame everybody with their gender issues and the abortions and of course that’s what’s causing the destruction of the Christian world, but that is a lie, which of course lies are an Abomination to God. It is never what is outside of the church or the home that destroys the people within it spiritually, it is what is inside that causes destruction. You cannot curse what God has blessed. But when we worship so many idols, Idols of greed and pride and self-centeredness, but the worst Idol I have come just now to believe is that of unbelief that somehow we don’t think his love and the Precious Blood of the savior is enough. We crucified him. We hated him and yet after we killed him, not even death could stop his love for us and the one who cried out father forgive them for they don’t know what they’re doing rose from the dead and loves us still.

But there is judgment and so we must have the fear of God and yet the hope that one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. And here in this moment in time we are the salt of this Earth and so as you seek Justice, look and see how God created the world.

We were created from meaningful work. For over 150 years we have stripped meaningful work away more and more from society. Here in America we can send a man around the Moon and build beautiful Teslas but we can’t figure out 10,000 homeless in one of our cities. There is no lack of resources of time or money or energy, the one resource that is lacking is love. Love for God and love for people that would stop and say what happens if we just keep manufacturing so many things and we put people in these wonderful buildings we call factories and make some work long hours so that more and more people can have more and more stuff that we may or may not buy.

Greed is no more economically sound then War, but how can we set ourselves free from our addictions too expensive coffee and so many things we don’t need for life? For the first lust in the Bible was not for sex, but for the interesting, for knowledge. What did the liar say? God knows if you eat from the fruit of the tree you will become like God knowing good from evil. And then the ultimate lie, you won’t really die. But the problem wasn’t even eating the fruit. The problem and the initial Temptation in the core root of the problem was that they no longer trusted God. There was another voice and they listened to that voice instead. Now after the fall there are hundreds of thousands of voices. Sort of like walking into a large grocery store and having to go through every item on the Shelf before you decide what 10 items you need for dinner, too many choices for mankind. All so much easier if we just have ears to hear, eyes to see in Hearts to turn and repentance to the one who will always speak the truth can you imagine the economy in the Kingdom of Heaven? And yet we pray that I will be done that Kingdom Come On Earth as it is in heaven. But just because we can manufacture tons of things to make factories doesn’t mean that we should, certainly not Without Limits but in the name of freedom the modern Western world has become the ultimate slaves. So bound we can’t even give up our coffee or tea and walk free to care for the poor and be the hands and feet of Jesus. Woe is me! Because I am a man of unclean lips, that’s a quote from Isaiah technically I’m a woman, and I live among people of unclean lips and my eyes have seen the Living God! I am going to die because I have sinned against God. And yet there is hope.

We continue to take meaningful work away from large or larger portions of society enslaving them more and more and at the pace we’re going it won’t be much longer before 10 or 15% of humanity in the Western World will have to care for the rest because in our great knowledge we have created so many things to further an unsustainable society that most certainly will crash. And as it is written Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! In the merchants of the world will weep at her destruction. Perhaps this is not what it means but the Western World system will be destroyed if we do not learn what it means to count the knowledge of God worth retaining, and how we spend our time energy and money.

People need meaningful work. Can you imagine if every bar, video game place and movie theater across our countries was replaced by initiatives with time energy and money put into retraining the next three generations on how to make handmade beautiful clothes, and bowls and cups and pottery, and Halls of Music Learning where once again muscles move and breath is flowing, not typing on a computer for a screen using just a few muscles, but energy poured into a violin or a piano or a guitar or trumpet or a flute. We are the most bored generation most likely in the history of humanity, at least of those with such affluence.

There Is No Lack in today’s world when it comes to resources. There is more than enough because God has given the Earth to the Children of Men. But we are the managers and if the salt loses its saltiness it is not worth anything but to be trampled on by man. We are commanded to love like Christ Jesus loved. We are commanded to forgive our enemies. We are commanded by God to open our houses to the homeless poor and not turn away from our own flesh and blood. It is not gender issues or abortion that is the core root of the problem facing the Christian church, it is the greed and the lack of love and the self-centeredness that has been sliding in for many hundreds of years, because we can have knowledge, we can have faith that moves mountains, but beloved for whom Christ blood in a very real 3D World was shed, if we don’t have love it’s nothing and there is no way we will have love unless we through faith receive it from the source.

We are loved, our sins are forgiven. May we have power to love and fear God. And Grace to get to bed and get a full night’s sleep.
