I thought this historical documentary on the true story of the Von Trapp family was excellent. However whether it’s a problem with my Wi-Fi or whatever when I went to comment I was suddenly restricted and couldn’t even view the comments anymore. I tried to get back to the screen I was on for about 10 minutes and gave up. I feel like I was blocked but have no idea why. So I will post here….
I thought that was a beautiful and informative story.
Reflecting a strong faith in Jesus through hard times and a strong love that cherished Faith and family for many years above lesser things. Our modern generation has so many tinsel Treasures that we consider more important than relationships or the people close to us in our lives.
I think the most poignant take home for me was not that they endured great hardships and came out Rich at the end, but rather they endured great hardships together and came out together at the end, with only death being capable of separating their family love. That is absolutely amazing and beautiful.
Of course that does not negate children growing up and healthy separation with their own families or call to cherish and value. But it seems to me the hugest take away is not that they endured, but they endured together nothing separated them. Not Financial ruin, not relocation, not career change, not even War. Only death could separate them, but from what I can see as they had strong faith in Jesus Christ, even that would be very temporary. I will be keeping this and sharing this thank you.
Regarding the disconnect between the movie and the reality, I personally do not think it’s fair to have no say in your own story, even if you did sign the rights, but every individual will answer to God for how we have lived down here.
Absolutely amazing that Maria had a heart to hear when He spoke. And as every individual must realize, if she had not been obedient to the voice of God and walked in obedience to him, no one would have heard of this story because it would not have existed….
God’s peace.ππ
